ABOUT
Laura Loyola is the author of “El Destino de sus ojos” a novel published in Chile in 2010. After arriving in Australia in 2011 to complete a Master’s in Architecture, her dreams were put on hold in 2014 when her daughter Emma was born with a rare syndrome that had only been known at the time by 200 in the world. Laura found comfort in writing stories for her daughter to keep hope. Having grown up in a family that loves classic fairy tale stories like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin, Laura needed to write a fairy tale that would now fit a different circumstance in her life, showing her daughter that we don’t need to fit in any ‘normal’ stereotype, to push ourselves, and never give up reaching our goals

A NEVER ENDING STORY
To a child with Disabilities, life is a constant unknown that needs a reminder every day to say, “If you keep trying, every day you will notice a change.” That change might not look like much to others, but we, the parents, celebrate each one with fireworks inside.
In this very special fairy tale, the darkness plays as much of a villain as a hero to show children with disabilities that not everything is black and white; life has a range of colours that we all need to discover every day, creating HOPE.

THERE ARE LOTS OF PEOPLE THAT AT FIRST GLANCE THEY LOOK LIKE ANY OTHER STRANGER, BUT WE ALL HIDE SOMETHING BENEATH THE SURFACE… FOR SOME COULD BE THAT IS HARD TO ACCEPT CHANGE, FOR OTHER COULD BE THAT THEY CANNOT SEE OR HEAR, FOR ME IS THAT I TAKE A LONG TIME TO LEARN SIMPLE THINGS, I DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH WORDS, BUT WITH SIGNS. I MAY BE BOSSY AND PUSHY, BUT I DO NOT MEAN ANY HARM. I AM DIFFERENT LIKE WE ALL ARE, AND AS YOU AND EVERYONE I DESERVE RESPECT AND THE SAME OPPORTUNITIES TO BE WHATEVER I WANT.
